If there’s some reason you can’t fly Jet Blue, this is your next option to get to the island.
We’re not a huge fan of American Airlines but other than Jet Blue it’s your only choice. We have had many delays with AA in the past, and it’s quite normal for the last flight into St Croix (connecting through Miami) to get delayed or missed all together from a previous delayed flight. Once we even had to stay over night in Miami and missed a day in St. Croix.
If you are flying American Airlines, be sure to always schedule the earliest flights possible during the day to ensure you get their by the end of the day. In 2016 they were voted the worst airline of the year due to over bookings and delayed flights.
There’s also usually no entertainment, less leg room, no free snacks or drinks, etc. etc. Did we mention you have to connect through Miami’s huge airport? – it’s usually a hike to your next gate…
